Downtown and Northeast Young Life & YoungLives are hosting the David Poole Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, April 21st at the Fort Jackson Golf Club. Young Life is a non-denominational Christian outreach ministry that involves high school students from Blythewood, Eau Claire, Keenan, Richland Northeast, Ridge View, Spring Valley, and Westwood. YoungLives is a Young Life focus ministry which specifically serves teenagers who are pregnant or parenting.
High schools in Downtown & Northeast Columbia are home to many of the most overlooked and underserved kids in our city. Their lives are dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, sharing God's love and hope for their future. David Poole was one of those caring adults, who faithfully served these ministries for over 40 years. He has been an instrumental part in helping Young Life reach more kids on the margins, serving as a leader and on the local committee, and most recently by spearheading out inaugural golf tournament last April. With his sudden passing in June, we hope to honor him and his significant impact by naming this tournament after him.
